Reed Messe Wien adds digital broadcasting to the mix
Published: January 2021
Reed Exhibitions has installed a new state-of-the-art Broadcast Studio at the “Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center”, opening up exciting possibilities for digital and hybrid events.
As the sole operator of Messe Wien, Reed Exhibitions has been quick to recognise the needs of its guest organisers and in-house event teams for virtual event technology.
“During the pandemic we realized that if attendees couldn’t come to Vienna, we needed to take Vienna and Reed Messe Wien to them” says Martina Candillo, Director Congresses & Events Management. “We were also excited by the long-term opportunity for digital to add customer value and extend audience reach alongside in-person events as they return.”
A first-class digital infrastructure is essential for congresses and events in the virtual space, and that’s exactly what the Broadcast Studio delivers. Developed in co-operation with long-term technology partner STEINERLIVE, it comprises a 190 square meter studio area with 4K camera technology, a separate control room and a curved LED screen. The heart of the studio ‒ the 36 square meter, fully digital background ‒ enables variable settings and offers plenty of space for creative content.
Up to four live cameras guarantee professional productions of everything from key notes, speeches and interviews, to presentations and panel discussions. “We enable lively and varied productions for dynamic events on a virtual basis, so clients can continue to share and present their content virtually, and even reach out to new prospects” explains Martina. “The studio also offers exciting new possibilities and opportunities for our own exhibitions and exhibitors to add value and broaden their reach to potential customers.”
Depending on the desired format and technical requirements, customers can choose different packages ranging from "Basic" to "High-End", which can also be flexibly and individually adapted.
"Our trained team offers full-service support with many years of experience – and of course in compliance with the applicable COVID-19 regulations", promises Thomas Wasshuber, Managing Partner of STEINERLIVE.
